  1. Front Door

From the recording Front Door

Life can be hard! It's a jungle out there! I wrote this song as a dedication to all of us who are often very hard on ourselves, and we're always worried and thinking, "Man - I should be doing more! - Achieving more!!!!!" - I guess it's trying to make the point that usually, if you take step back, you find that you're actually doing pretty well with it all, and maybe what we've all got going on right here and now already, ain't so bad. : ) The success is in the journey not the destination, right?

Lyrics

Front Door

Morning has broken she pulls the shades open and watches the people below
She pours her coffee and heads to the office and wonders, "Where'd the time go?"
She thinks back to when she was just a girl
and all of the big dreams she had for this world

And she'll wait, and she'll pray
For something much better to come along her way
But just maybe there's always been so much more,
Than she ever gave herself credit for
Right at her Front Door

Angel's a baker who works down on Bleecker he wakes up each morning at three
he knows all the customers it may not be much but, he gives them their refills for free
and back home he kisses his family goodnight
and wishes there was so much more he could provide

and he'll wait, and he'll pray
For something much better to come along his way
But just maybe there's always been so much more,
Than he ever gave himself credit for
Right at his Front Door

All of us spinning 'round in this mysterious ferris wheel
grasping for pieces
Trying to hold tighter the wheel's spinnin' faster so hard to feel
like you're gaining ground, gaining ground....

So you'll wait, and you'll pray
For something much better to come along your way
but just maybe there's always been so much more
than you ever gave yourself credit for
Right at your Front Door
